Environment

Deen Shipping is currently building the innovative ship ‘The Argonon’ in close collaboration with several partners.  The most special thing about The Argonon is that the ship will sail on dual fuel, a mixture of 80% LNG (liquefied natural gas) and 20% diesel. This results in a significantly lower emission of CO2 and NOx and reduces the emission of particulates to zero! The Argonon is the first barge in Europe that sails on dual fuel. The mixture is not only much more environmentally friendly, it’s also cheaper than diesel, which leads to a decrease in costs.

Check out the Argonon

Emission

Reduction of the emission of pollutants into the air

Noise reduction

Reduction of the noise by ship engines, due to the disappearance of the ‘diesel clatter’ and due to less hard explosions in the cylinders.

Co2 Reduction

It leads to a significantly lower emission of CO2 and NOx and reduces the emission of particulates to almost zero!

Fuel conversion

The oil supplies in the world are slowly depleting. Gas however, will be available for hundreds of years to come.

Less lubricating oil consumption

An oil change for a Cat. Diesel engine is required after about 2000 hours. For a dual-fuel Cat. the service live of the lubricating oil will be much longer, since much less carbon ends up in the lubricating oil.
